Year 4 Shoot 1

for my first shoot of the project, I was eager to get a start on some work. I took my camera out without much of a plan, brought along a model and some lighting equipment and started shooting. Although I didn't achieve many shots that I would call 'perfect', this shoot really helped me get my head around using a camera for this genre of work. This series of shots were a starting point on which I could reflect on and gather ideas for further shoots, such as what tones I would like to aim for, what props that could be used throughout the images and who the model should be. I wanted to keep the model off centre in these images, for this project, I thought that the location of the shoot and the surroundings were just as important as the model, this is something that I will continue to work towards throughout my shoots. I explored both colour and black and white while editing this shoot, the black and white gave a retro, mysterious atmosphere to the work yet the coloured get a more natural and brought out the beauty of the surroundings; this is something I will improve on for my future shoots so that I can decide what colour pallet I want. This was a starting point for my work, there is a lot more I want to experiment with before I move onto a final shoot.
